[Verbergen]Which store should I build?
Sales buildings are built under BUILD MENU ⇒ Stores.
Under HELP ⇒ Sales you will find a list of stores and their products. On the other hand, newcomers have a PLUS account for the first 7 days and can see where the stores of a type are located under CITY ⇒ MAPS.
Where should I build?
The location should be chosen carefully, because a lot of competition means fewer sales. You should also pay attention to the color of the areas.
More people live in red areas, which means more shopping, but a property in such an area is also more expensive. White areas are the cheapest, but also have the fewest inhabitants.
Stores with few competitors in light areas with dark areas within their reach are therefore ideal.
Each store has a range of 6 at the start, which can also be displayed during the first 7 days or with the PLUS account. This allows you to see which areas of the city are covered and in which areas there are many competing stores.
What buildings do I need and how big should they be?
As a salesperson, you first need a store. This must have at least 50 square meters of sales space and 20 square meters of storage space. However, it should be larger in any case, as at least two employees, i.e. 100 square meters of sales space, are required for the two shelves alone, which a newly built store has.
Furthermore, at least 32 square meters of storage space should be calculated per shelf. However, this depends on the products sold and how often you have time to buy more goods or accept deliveries.
Later in the game, you can also build an advertising agency to increase your Store Reputation. A research laboratory is not required as a seller.
- IMPORTANT: Company buildings only generate costs and no profit, so they are not recommended at the start of the game.
How should I set my price?
A factor is displayed on each shelf in the store. The lower the factor, the less of the product is sold. If the factor is 0, no customer will buy the product.
Do several employees bring something to a shelf?
An employee on a shelf has two functions. On the one hand, it increases the factor a little and thus possibly gives you the opportunity to charge a better price.
More importantly, however, an employee can only serve a certain number of customers. Whether an additional employee is required for a shelf in order to serve all customers can be seen from the three values in the “Sold.” column. (number of units sold today):
- the quantity actually sold
- the quantity that would have been possible to sell, and
- a percentage of both upper values
If the percentage sales are too low, more employees may have to be hired for the goods or the price may have to be increased.
When does the public shop, and how much?
The sale of goods runs from 8:05 am to 11:50 pm. Sales take place every 15 minutes (x:05, x:20, x:35, x:50). However, it is random which city areas go shopping. It is therefore quite possible that no customers will pass by the store at certain shopping times.
Which areas have already shopped can be looked up in the PRODUCT OVERVIEW ⇒ Shopping statistics menu. Here, every second area turns black during the course of the day; these are the areas that have already made a purchase.
How can I increase the reach of my business?
To increase the reach of a business, an advertising agency is required. This must have an area of 100 square meters per employee.
One employee generates 0.3 reputation per day (without training). If the reputation is above 10, it drops by 10% at 0 o'clock. The range of a store increases at reputations of 30, 70, 110 and 150.
As the daily loss of reputation is already 3 points at a reputation of 30, more than ten employees are needed in the advertising agency (without training) to achieve the 30 reputation points required for the increase. This is very time-consuming and costly and is therefore not recommended for the start.
Further expansion
As a seller, it is important to build more shelves. This is because, with the exception of the labor costs for the required employees, these do not cause any operating costs, but an additional product can be offered and thus the profit margin can be increased.
In order to ensure sufficient sales staff for the new shelves and storage space for additional products, it may also be necessary to expand the building.
